Mweb Premium uncapped or Afrihost business uncapped - 4mb

While redundancy is definitely a requirement, you still need a solid connection at all times. I know that Afrihost throttle the hell out of your line if they deem you to be pulling down heavy traffic.

Afrihost doesn't throttle, I've pulled 200 GB so far this month and never have I been shaped according to client zone.

Can someone with an Afrihost 10Mb uncapped please confirm the following:

- Average local/international latency (I don't game however I stream Netflix and Hulu+)
- Average download speed on newsgroups (I currently average +-420KB/s when MWeb's network doesn't have a bitch fit)
- Average HTTP download speed
- Average speed test

Sorry I have to ask this... not very nice that Afrihost doesn't make it easy to join their service as you are unable to test drive an uncapped account.
I am seriously thinking of changing over as I have a 10Mb line, but paying for 4Mb as MWeb is far from affordable.

Sounds all very good, only issue: have to put up with Mweb's crap speed for another month :(

Oh well... so will I until I change or decide to change. Speeds are erratic. Newsgroups/Torrents are shaped, however the margin for fluctuation is ridiculous.

Dudes... after getting p1ssed off in the extreme with Telkom Internet after 2 years of great stable 3.5mbps performance degrading to a complete erratic mess from January 2013, I cancelled. In my research for a replacement I'm seeing a pattern of erratic performance across the board. Beginning to wonder whether there's a consistent thread... which bodes ill. All traffic is routed through Telkom. Wondering whether we're seeing a major IPC issue... Telkom's hurting everybody. just a thought since no single ISP is demonstrating any stabilty... according to forum feedback that is.
