So I downgraded my MWEB account to a 1gig and cancelled towards the end of September. October is the one month notice period on a 1gig, but MWEB would still charge the full R369 for it (instead of R29) on the 1st October. The R340 is supposed to be refunded at the end of October, right?

Question: Does this happen automatically, or do they keep it as a credit or do you have take steps to get it.

Not exactly the amount you have worked out. I cancelled my package with them. Was paying R267 a month for a 1 meg line uncapped. Migrated my line over to Telkom on the 25th of September and downgraded my uncapped to the R29 rand. They billed me R267 at the end of Septemeber as I new they would as I missed some deadline. And they told me they would credit me R220 on the 14th of October which they did.

So R267 - R29 = R238 . Plus 5 days I should have been refunded cause I was with Telkom on the 25th of September. So I should have gotten a little more than R238. Don't ask me why I only got R220 .

Hi tohir

Hi MWEB Guy

This is the response I received. Now whilst I'm grateful that you managed to intervene, I have to say that I find MWEB's archaic processes as bizarre to put it mildly. If your management doesn't realise this, they have their heads up there @$$€$. You lose customers who dont have the time and patience for MWEB's "processes"

Thank you for notifying us of your complaint. We strive to provide our customers with the best possible service, and when you feel that it fails to meet your expectations, it's important for us to know.

We're sorry that you have been incorrectly debited with R369 instead of R29 at the end of September, and we regret any inconvenience or frustration that the experience has caused you.

An amount of R340 will be refunded back into your bank account on the 14 November 2013.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Honestly, in the worst case scenario, I would have done the same and give up quickly. Not worth time, effort and temperament required to deal with MWEB.

good luck buddy, they are one of the worst companies ever, when I first got my adsl I signed up with them, and transferred my line over ,worst decision I've ever made in my life, I ended up getting double charged for my adsl line (10meg line) for 3+ months, due to the transfer process between telkom and mweb.
