Mweb shaped vs Telkom shaped

Hi all

Can anyone tell me if MWEB uncapped shape their service more heavily than Telkom capped ?
I recently switched over to Mweb but have not yet cancelled my Telkom.
I can never achieve more than half-speed on a download via Mweb yet when I switch back to Telkom I get fullspeed even on shaped capped .

yea they shape them during the day... do you wanna sell your telkom account to me?? i wanna use your local cap.

You can definitely feel the shaping during the day (not that it is incredibly severe), my average downloads run around 50-200kb/s during the day but at night you can download anywhere from 100kb/s up to 400kb/s.

I would really recommend Mweb if you are going to download a lot. If you aren't going to download a lot but want full line speed all hours of the day, I'd definitely recommend you look at an unshaped capped account.

I get about 66% efficiency out of my line, on average. Sometimes its higher sometimes its lower, depends on the time of day really and what I'm downloading. On torrents I get about 6% of my line speed, its over HHTP that I get 66%.

In the end, even though you're looking at a slower connection you can still DL more than what you could with a capped account, so it really depends on your needs.

What I'd recommend getting is an Axxess Lite account for when you really need something fast, or for online gaming, and save your uncapped for downloading relentlessly.
