Hi there,

I am receiving thousands of image spam messages on my mweb email account. Its really annoying. One would have thought that Mweb would have dealt with this problem. Are they are aware of it? Why aren't their spam filters catching it?

Get a new account - preferably a free one independent of your ISP. If you'd like a gmail account pm me and I'll send you an invite.

You can then auto forward all your mweb email to the gmail account and take advantage of gmail's decent spam filtering. Gmail has pop3 access as well as the webmail.

Also with MWEB

The way spam makes it's way to your computer is most likely through signing up on websites. To avoid this I never use my MWEB account when asked to sign up on websites I use my yahoo account. This way all the spam will go onto the yahoo email and all my important mail will go to MWEB which is my primary mail.

you've hit the nail on the head. if you want to sign up for crap do it through your gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc account.
Never ever through your paid for email addy.

I'd suggest the opposite - you're more likely to keep an outside email address for longer than one that is tied to a single ISP.

I've probably used a dozen ISP's in the last 2 years and where I'm certain that I'll still be using my gmail account for years to come - no way could I say the same about my current ISP.

If you want to sign up for crap use an alias that forwards to your main account - mweb gives you 5 if memory serves.
