No announcement from Mweb yet (as far as I know).
My line went down while reading a thread on Afrihosts new pricing.
While swearing at Mweb because I was really getting into the thread, I decided to reboot my router.
While waiting for the sync lights to finish flashing, I thought that I should do a speedtest (with no expectations).
To my surprise, I got a line speed of 3.02 and 3.01 down and 0.46 and 0.48 up.

It seems Mweb has upped my data speed to 4Mbps
If I log in though, it still shows my line as 2Mbps.

Anyone else with Mweb seeing any improvement?

I'm still getting 1Mbps speed but my router syncs at 2Mbps

I am and have been getting 1.67Mbps for some time now:( From before the line upgrade when I was on a 2Mbps line. Telkom sorted me out with 4Mbps, but I get 1.67Mbps which is a very obvious throttled speed. Has anyone else been experiencing this, I can imagine if this is done over the large number of 2Mbps subscribers it can save them a ton of bandwidth while not being noticed by normal customers (those who aren't watching the RRD graphs on their router..)?

Mweb has just went to extreme effort to screw their customers to further enrich their share holders. Doing speed upgrades will undo all Derek's "good" work in this regard. Expect Mweb to delay any upgrades as long as possible, be as half-hearted as they can get away with, and intensify their throttling program.

My router is syncing at 6.3mb, getting 5.5Mbps down and 0.58Mbps up on speedtest. Mweb 4mb uncapped.
