Tonight was the first time in months that i had to use the torrents to download centos in order to build an asterisk system, after realizing that it might take me a month to get the image i decided to give mweb a call about the speed i was getting on my bit-torrent client (according to their stats i only used 22 gig of the so called premium uncapped service) just to be informed that they now throttle p2p networks down to nothing. then told to upgrade my package if i want my p2p downloads to work.

was anyone aware of this policy change or is it just me that didnt know??

If you are already on premium what do they want you to upgrade to?

Why do you want to torrent the image? Can't you just download 6.5 ISO from an FTP or HTTP server?

I just got rid of MWEB uncapped when they throttled all my downloads to 256kbps on a 2Mbps line when I only did like 80GB. Now I'm on Afrihost/WebAfrica capped and I don't regret moving away from MWEB since last year August.

Leave your downloads running overnight, they'll be done by morning. p2p tends to become unshaped at 22h00 - 00h00.

found that the torrent actually downloads faster on the torrent client
for some odd reason it took forever trying to download from ftp.is.co.za
