I just signed up fro a trial account fromMweb, thinking I might move to them from AfriHost.

Is the trial account a true reflection of their uncapped service in terms of performance?

Also, anyone using their non-premium uncapped accounts for the likes of gaming, media streaming, etc. Any issues? I don't do a lot of downloading and looking at a 4mbps account.

Hi srothman, yes our trial accounts works the same way as our premium and standard products.

Thanks for the response.
OK, so is the trial account based on your premium service, or the standard uncapped offering? Obviously want to compare apples with apples.

It is a premium account.

Please note that our premium accounts and standards account works in exactly the same manner, it is just the thresholds that differs

I also used the trail run and was very impressed with the speed. What is the threshold for the standard 4mb uncapped as I use about 300GB per month (mostly steam, origin, ubisoft's fault)

Standard package.... LOL... 300GB.... you be lucky to even get that from their premium package :(

You'll get nowhere near that on the standard package unfortunately, that is premium stuff

Well, I don't even get close to 100GB a month to be honest, including whatever downloads I do.

So far, so good. Had slightly higher latency than usual last night with Battlefield, but all-in-all everything seems fine. Media streaming works perfectly, downloads run well, browsing is good.

There are more threads started about people looking to leave MWEB, easy to find to help you make up your mind

Afternoon, the premium 4MB package has a threshold of approximately 400GB. This is excluding uploads ;)

The 4MB standard package has a threshold of approximately 110GB

Interesting, however they are not they same as you yourself said so:

Hi GaskooN

The difference between the Standard Uncapped and Premium Uncapped packages are the thresholds limits.

The Premium Uncapped packages has a higher limit compared to the Standard Uncapped. The Standard packages are not suited for the gamers, downloaders, etc.

The reason we said it doesn't suit gamers, is due to the thresholds.

Gamers tend to download games and run updates, which will impact on the thresholds being reached. Gaming is affected when the account is being throttled
