Hello Internet.

I've decided that I want to join the mweb family. However I am undecided as to which one of their two 1 mbps packages to take.

I primarily want to play online games such as World of Warcraft, Diablo 3 and occasionally FPS games with local servers such as CoD or Bf3. I do not intend to download any torrents and the only large files I will be downloading would be the various game clients and or associated game patches. I might also use a VoIP program like Teamspeak while playing.

So here is my question: Would the normal 1 mbps uncapped account be sufficient? Or would I need to get the 1 mbps uncapped unshaped? I'm a student so my budget is kind of tight.

Thanks for the help. :)

I have the shaped 4Mbps service and I never experience lag problems in CoD. The experience is overall very good. I use a voice chat application at the same time without any problems. The 1Mbps package should be able to do the same as I don't find Mweb's shaping to be very drastic or limiting to my internet experience at all.

We've got Mweb's 1mbps uncapped. My brother and I regularly play online together with no problems. Not sure how the experience will change once we get our microphones, will be able to tell you next week:)

From my experience so far it's perfect for most games. I was on the 384 unshapped and I get the same latency as before on the standard 1mbps. LoL, Local TF2 and all MMO's (that I've tried) are playable excluding the odd rough patch here and there. Torrents also fly at night and weekends though during the day time often peak at less than 20kBs.

1mbps (shaped) ftw :)
This now for (local and intl) gaming and teamspeak, news servers, Youtube and browsing. Game updates fly too.

Hi IronKhan

I can offer you a 7 day trial account in order for you to test how the 1Mb uncapped shaped account will be. Pop me your details via PM and I will arrange for a consultant to contact you regarding this.
