Mweb Uncapped 4mb/s Speed Tests

Hello,

I started this thread hoping other people on this forum with a mweb Uncapped 4mbs line would post their speedtest.net and pingtest.net results for us to all see.

Heres Mine:



I just ordered it today and got solid 250kb/s downloads during the day for about 6 hours... this later went down to 50kb for about 3 hours and now its running solid at 120kb/s for about 2 hours so far.

I can say im unhappy, this is awesome and i have done over 3GB today...


Pingtest:

something is wrong here, whenever i test it the thing seems to freeze half way through measuring and just hangs...
 


and still get 6kb from megaupload and 100kb from Microsoft site:(
best speed i get from downloads at night recently is 50kbs:mad:
 
why do i get such fast speeds while you guys suffer with that ****?

EDIT: i guess this service is only gonna get worse for me, judging by the speed of other peoples accounts...

I think you are on your Telkom account there
 
mweb have been putting new accounts on the saix network
using the [email protected] instead of [email protected] puts u on the saix network ->which gives better speeds and performance all round: but unless told to change by them, this can get ur account terminated
its something to do with capacity problems due to delayed ipc upgrades

(i am on a 10mbit line, however its a 4mbit acc, thts why i can get close to the full 4mbit as the overheads seem to come out of the total line capacity)

Ya, I signed up and they sent me a sms with my username as *****@mweb.co.za so i shouldnt be worried right?
Did you notice any actual speed difference when you were upgraded to 10mb/s? i know they still limit you to 4mb/s but i thought the extra would at least help slightly with download speeds.
 
Wow, before when I was on the MWEB network, I would get 60ms + ping to Cape Town. Now that ive taken dsl out, i get under 20ms ping :D
