Hi all..

Last year my dad opened an ADSL Telkom Do broadband package deal. Where you get a 384 line with 2gigs of cap. Sigh..

The deal included the router (Siemens Giga 762sx) which i think you have to pay for over a period of 24 months along with the adsl data package.

Now we want to go over to Mweb's 512kbps Uncapped Data Package, But still use Telkoms line rental.

I've heard things about Telkom rapidly killing your Download Speed when they see you have a Screamer package or Other Data Provider. But I just heard that.

Do you think its a good Idea to use the two simultaneously? (Telkom Lines with Mweb Data Package)

What will become of the modem?

The modem is specifically designed for Do Broadband by the looks of it, Will it still work fine with the mweb data package?

Telkom cannot kill your download speed if you choose another ISP other than them. As long as you still paying your line rental aswell as your Adsl package for the duration of the contract it shouldn't be a problem. The modem can be used with any other ISP in the country, all you'll have to do is change your username & password to the one that (Mweb) gives you and you off. Remember you will still have to honour your contractual obligations with Telkom even if you not using the Do Broadband package anymore.

Since your line is 384, you will have to upgrade to a 512 to use the Mweb 512 Uncapped Data Package.

Yeah.. I was worried about that... Anyway its not that bad i suppose.. I'll just stick with 384 line speed, then just use the mweb 384 uncapped... :)

Thanks For the Help
