Well i think it did not help, ping test to games.saix.net are higher after the upgrade, before the upgrade it was 150-220, know its 250-320 before 07:00 it was like 35-60, i have an uncapped, unshapped business account...

If you look at a tracert to games.saix.net, you will find the congestion is on hop 7, which the gateway between MWeb and Telkom. Ping to other sites produces very different results, so that may be another bottleneck that is outside of MWeb's control...

Code:
Tracing route to games.saix.net [196.43.22.222]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms home.gateway [192.168.1.254]
  2 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 41-132-48-1.dsl.mweb.co.za [41.132.48.1]

  4 56 ms 52 ms 55 ms 196.22.169.41
  5 61 ms 60 ms 61 ms 196.22.169.61

  7 230 ms 226 ms 236 ms rrba-ip-hsll-1-wan.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.25.8.249]
  8 234 ms 225 ms 230 ms rrba-ip-esr-1-pos-8-0-0.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43.8.146]

do the same test on the gold account and the ping are constant between 40-70, why don't they have the same problem then?

Nah, it's within their control. Everybody out there always turns Telkom into the scapegoat as it is easier than upgrading their service which also costs money. Minimum investment maximum return is how a business functions.

Well, I'm getting a 33ms ping to stats.jinx.net.za, 280ms to news.bbc.co.uk (via SEACOM), and 300ms to games.saix.net. Do you see a pattern here?

better than yesterday but still terrible :(

i know mweb claims not to throttle etc, but i suppose its worth noting that i have done about 23gb of usage on the acc this month so far; however my speeds are great
especially http and youtube etc (and has been all along, its not suddenly good after the upgrade)

Actually been worse since the "upgrade" here in CPT. Getting http timeouts, slow speeds and high latency everywhere, even to local sites.

my question is why as soon as it goes from mweb to telkom does it jump from 47ms to 155ms.... Telkom says their side is fine, mweb says their side is fine. I'm saying it's not fine... It's too slow....

We were having problems after our upgrade, few calls to Telkom and they are history.

I am getting download speeds of 16kB/s from a normal http website on a 4mb uncapped shaped line.

I phone MWEB support on Sunday and they tell me to change my user name and remove the dsl. After rebooting the router the speeds were the same.
The consultant says that he is going to get a specialist to phone me and arranges a time on Monday.

On Monday, the so called specialist phones me, only to tell me to amend my usrname back to @dslmweb.co.za.

Obviously this also did not have an effect.

I am at my wits end with MWEB, and 16kb/s does not justify me paying R899
