I logged a PM with MWEBGUY about slow speeds I am experiencing on mweb 4mb uncapped.

We have been chatting on PM, he tells me from 1 December to 6 December, my total usage is 105gigs.

I am concerned as this is my previous months:

December, 2012 19073.33 82159.12 101232.45
November, 2012 103313.44 435510.70 538824.14
October, 2012 82507.23 292125.04 374632.27
September, 2012 52932.29 125042.94 177975.24
August, 2012 80157.84 258133.23 338291.07
July, 2012 78385.99 338143.29 416529.27
June, 2012 27636.85 95116.47 122753.31
May, 2012 60632.93 181741.14 242374.07
April, 2012 51868.07 204171.93 256040.00
March, 2012 54987.94 189231.24 244219.19
February, 2012 62914.11 279510.30 342424.41
January, 2012 25306.88 163934.76 189241.64
December, 2011 6702.04 244264.19 250966.23

So from November, it seems like something went mad, 200 gigs more.
I have MS Essentials running and Kaspersky so do not think its a virus.

I download torrents and only torrents. No bypassing of any rules whatsoever but how can it jump so much???

What are your opinions?

Thanks guys.
I am on a 10mb line but 4mb uncapped.
Surely based on normal use and normal shaping, I should not be getting anywhere close to 500gigs or am I wrong?

How many torrent do you run ?could you be more precise please

I mean torrents can be anything from 1mb file to 100gigs..

But if you did 100gigs in 6 days..comes down to abuse of net..

Abuse of net as you put it is bypassing the rules. Which I HAVE NOT done.
I only run torrents - series and movies and thats all.

I have been running an online Kaspersly test but its been running since last night and only on 42%
It has picked up 2 threats, one Malware and another I cant see yet

Good Morning marine1

Please see the private message I have sent you.

Marine1...off topic...when last did you format ??a good format every 2years should do the job to keep you're rig working well :)

Interesting, thanks. I will have a look at this now.

Thanks for that.

Also if you are using torrents then be aware of the uploads during the downloads as this will push you total usage way past what you think you downloading. I also use torrents but I keep my uploads to a bare minimum so as to not go beyond my Cap. I'm using 8ta product for now.

But it just seems lately there has been a massive spike, since November. I ONLY use torrents and it stops the minute it finishes. The upload is also limited to minimum.
Surely based on Mweb shaping rules, using torrents I could not have used this amount of data on torrents?

Do you perhaps have a wifi router? If yes then you must ensure that no one else can use your internet via roaming. Yes I know they need to have certain details to log on but it's just something to consider.

I do but am pretty sure it is not being used.

The funniest part of this is the reason I picked this up was because I complained about the slow speeds on torrents.

105GB in 6 days, that's 17.5GB per day, which does sound rather high for a 4Mb Mweb account.
Do you perhaps have Netlimiter or the sorts installed on your computer? What I like about it is I can view ie Steam's (and every other process that uses the net) usage over the last hour->year, which in your case would tell you if it's your torrents that accounts for your usage or perhaps something else.

To me (I am no expert) It seems absolutely madness on a 4mb account. Never mind what the hell could I be downloading???? 105 gigs in 6 days??? Thats beyond insane.
I have installed Netbalancer and am watching it.
I have also asked for Mweb to monitor my line / Usage.
I want it to be known

I DO NOT BYPASS ANY SHAPING.

I have a 4mb uncapped account, and it is very possible to do 500GB in a month, as I have done it before.
