Mweb

soz i get a bit worked up when someone can not understand the simple fact of someone being more expensive and i really hate mweb because they rip ppl off who dont know better

They manage to do this because ppl think paying a premium for a service means good service which is very wrong

Mweb does provide good service. And for me the added services is worthwhile. I can see why not everyone wants to use their service, and why people say they are overpriced, because they are. But for what I want, they do the job. I only have 1gb with them (also have 3gb with telkom and 1gb with Webafrica to test their service) though.

Point is... Just because you dont like them, doesnt mean that they suck.

Maybe I understood more than you think. Don't get stroppy with people because you think they don't understand. One person's perceptions and opinions aren't where a debate ends.

Mweb has lousy customer service, they're over priced and they rely upon the same connectivity/bandwidth that everyone else does which, when I used them at least, was SAIX based. The question is - why would you want to pay more than you need to? Isnt ADSL expensive enough? :confused:

All these anti-Mweb posts - they're not one person' perception - it is a general consensus. Why ignore all the negative posts in favour of one barely positive one? ;)
 
Their ADSL is via SAIX, dial-up is via IS. Oh yeah and they suck too, but if you're a glutton for punishment then who are we to stand in your way :)

MWEB suck, plain and simple. Better service? Pah! For twice the price...Please!

Dude, do yourself a favour and listen to the consensus here and stay well shot of them!

So many other GOOD ISP's out there to choose from..Openweb and WebAfrica to name just two.

If you send a lot of time in airport lounges the WiFi access comes in handy and although not unique, the fax to email has it uses. The familiarity of the email address also has some benefits e.g. you can tell someone your email addr quickly over the phone knowing there is a high probablity they wont misspell the domain part.

The reality is, if your astute enough to find these forums you probably no longer in need of a mass market type ISP such as MWeb, which geared/costed for extensive marketing to attract 1st timers & high volumes of telephonic support (much of it being basic PC support).
 
mweb is geared at ripping off the first time user who does not have a clue what pricing is good or bad

i wouldnt go with Mweb, even if they paid me....its a typical example of a company being to big for its own good and exploiting the general public....are Telkom and Mweb bum chums????

anyway, the problem is that the average joe on the street who had an mweb dial-up does not know any different. as was mentioned changing from dial-up to adsl is a phone call away. what actually needs to happen is better marketing from the smaller reseller's and educate the guy on the street. for the most part joe blog thinks there are only 2 ISP's, Mweb and Telkom...

not everyone knows about hellkom or myadsl either...tho sum average pleb does take the time to do the research...the majority just accept it, and so mweb and its bum chum telkom basically feel its justified to ask high prices. only so that telkom can say, but prices are good and fair, see how many people are on adsl *pointing to mweb* and fine with it... BAH!!!!!!

i am with OpenWeb and Webafrica, both are FANTASTIC!!!! i would rather pay less for more, then more for less....
