Hi Mwebguy,

I have a very old friend (77) who is having a HUGE up hill battle with your call center and support.
Basically for some odd reason someone reset his Billion modem and now the Username and password is lost.
He does not have a clue what his username and password is so he contacted mweb and they gave him his logon username which was [email protected] but they would not give him a password and needed to email it to him as he does not have a cellphone.
Now for crying out aloud in a bucket, the call center person just could not see that he cannot receive emails because he has no internet connection.
So after much to do, they asked him for a friends email so they can send it to him ??
Anyways, I got a email from Mweb which was a form to fill in for this guy requesting a change of password which I did.
I also gave my cell phone number so they could SMS me the temp password.
A short while later I got an SMS but requesting this guys ID number.
Now surely the form should have had that on.
Why in the hell the military interrogation just for a simple temp password so an old man can connect to the internet.
We spent the whole weekend with God knows how many telephone calls etc until now I opened a 1G test account for him at Afrihost and now he is as happy as a pig in sh*t.
Just wtf is going on at Mweb ???
How can I get a simple password so he can logon to his Mweb ADSL uncapped account ???

Good Evening, unfortunately the ID request forms part of the verification process.

Otherwise, anyone would be able to fill out the form and have a clients password reset.

Inbox me an I will try and assist you.

Hi Mwebguy,

Sorry - Thats REALLY funny - it happened to me a few times with MWEB, part of my decision to move. And I used to think it was just me but it seems the dumb is difficult to beat out of people these days...

I realised the call centre staff we not too bright ... and my sense of humour faded with these ID10Ts .....

Good Luck, hope MWEB Guy can help you.

PM sent, thank you and hope you can help.

@Textile Guy, yes that's one of the reasons I dumped them as well :)
