My MWEB 4MB Uncapped Experience So Far....

MWEB 4MB Uncapped

All in all its been great for the 10 days i've been on it. Apart from the past 2 days which has been extremely extremely erratic and slow. Weekend Throttling?????
Is there something going on/something thats happened this weekend that i'm not aware of??
Hard to get to international sites - previous downloads that were pushing along at 400KB/s are now down to 20KB/s.
I'm currently experiencing 'olden days' modem download speeds!!! SUCKS! Absolute ****e weekend service from MWEB.

Looks like extreme international latency and degradation

SPEEDTEST TO LA - Downloading at 0.35Mb/s - Something is seriously effed up

SPEEDTEST TO UK - Slightly better than the US result

I'm having the same problems with Mweb today

see http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?230332-Terrible-speeds-on-mweb&p=3893637&posted=1#post3893637

Well on the bright side - at least theres one other person experiencing what I am :D

I have Afrihost and Axxess accounts that are having higher pings to European servers, as well as poor speedtest results, but local seems fine, so I think that this problem is more widespread than just MWEB.

Hi,

Well, I joined mweb last week. and well I am happy with downloads as far as http goes. yes, torrents can wait till after dark, but for me the weekend so far is good. downloads go at 400kbps on http and torrents 200kbps so for me, its cool.

I hate you so much right now! :-)

In all fairness though - my speeds were great all along - i reckon andwoo8182 is right - the problem is probably more widespread than just one Service Provider - i just wish someone would get to the root of it - and at least let us know -

And yeah - there is no bright side - trying to stay positive though - if not positive then i'd go postal on someones A$$ - and not in a homo way either

Yeah online gaming has become frustrating, but I have noticed that my pings almost halve after midnight or so... we've seen the same latency issues on an openweb account, all on a 4MB line.

Hi,

You know these MWEB speed issues seem to puzzle me somewhat.
I was also just another user a week ago deciding what to do and what not. I promise you, the amount of speed issues that I've read so far on this forum nearly made me not go with mweb and wait abit. But I just took the plunge and went with it seeing that it was a month to month thing and that I could cancel when I wanted to.

And here I am, happily with my download speed, apart from the torrent shaping thing which I totally understand as far as daytime goes.

But I'm sure someone might be able to say what is going on.

I'm on Axxess 4Mb uncapped and have exactly the same problem today.

Where are the days that we could DL our favourite 'stuff' at 400k/sec and not like the 40k/sec we're getting this weekend. *sigh*
