My 4meg line

Good Evening guys. I have a 4meg uncapped line from telkom since December 2013 but it seems to me my download speeds are slower than what i was expecting. speedtest.net Gives me these speeds at 9pm as we speak When I download test files i would touch 120kb/s that goes for pretty much for all files i try and download. I live in centurion and im the only person using the line. Are these normal figures for a 4meg line or should i be concerned:erm:

Not a lot , new account that was activated yesterday .
This is not only my ISP thats slow , telkom is mostly to blame for this bad speeds.

So in the day I have shaping from Isp and night time telkom blocks my connection speed

Are you sure you are syncing at 4mbps ?

Typically a 4mbps line should perform close to these results ... taken 5 mins apart.

Speed sometimes normal from 00:00 to 19:00 then line speed degrades till 00:00 after 00:00 sometimes not.

I'm not an expert at these kind of things (only been reading up on it for a month or so while trying to get my internet sorted). But looking at that traceroute I would guess you have exchange congestion. What are you line stats (SNR and attenuation) (can be found in the modem interface)?

Edit:

The above is purely a guess though as I am sitting with a similar issue at the moment and my traceroute pings look a lot better.
