OK, I am thoroughly confused by my account every month! And I just tried to speak to someone about it, but as usual they don't have the patience to help me.

I wish this was just a simple thing. You pay for your phone, you pay for your internet, not a million and one different charges.
What's wrong with just stating on your account "Do1" and "Closer 2"?
Everyone is talking about Do and All Access. I haven't been back in the country for that long and so am just used to having 1 account (with no cap and up to 8mbps ) and don't understand most of what's going on wrt broadband in SA.

Ok so I have closer option 2 on my line. I was told that was R145 pm (incl line rental and usage) Fine.

Then I had Do 1, but kept running out, so I cancelled my 2 x 1GB packages and got Do2 activated on 2 Aug

Now my new account is as follows:

Your telephone line: 12 Aug - 11 Sep = R98.16

DSL up to 384 kbps 12 Aug - 11 Sep = R133.33

Telkom Closer Option 2 12 Aug - 11 Sep =R29.03

TI-All Access 1 Aug - 11 Aug =R24-95 CR

TI-All Access 1 Aug - 11 Aug =R24-95 CR

TI All Access 2GB 12 Jul-11 Aug = R130.70

TI All Access 2GB 12 Aug-11 Sep = R130.70

OK so please can someone help me decipher this? I'm getting nowhere with Telkom. The person I spoke to was not sure what ANY of those things were and then got fed-up with me because i said what he said the charge was for and what the account said were different.

Why would they charge me for 2GB btwn 12 July and 11 Aug when I only activated it on 2 Aug??

I would appreciate any insights?

I forgot to mention. I was told that the 98.16 was for the adsL line rental. Is this right? I was under the impression that the Do package was ALL inclusive and that the only separate charges would be with regard to the telephone use and rental.

PS: the prices above do not include VAT. My total account is R500 odd

Look - All inclusive do package include the following.

ADSL LINE RENTAL - not to be confused with analogue line rental.
ISP FEE's - e.g. 1gb/2gb/3gb whatever option you go with.

Note this doesnt include your analogue line rental of about R111 odd.

So your cost would be do package + analogue rental = cost of dsl per month.

Thats basically what the do packes include, telkom closer with do is a different matter, closer includes free call minutes etc.

Hope this helps if you have more queries post in here again and i'll try and help you out.

Ok

Your telephone line: 12 Aug - 11 Sep = R98.16 - that is your analogue rental which telkom forces you to take.

DSL up to 384 kbps 12 Aug - 11 Sep = R133.33 - thats is your dsl line rental - what they charge you for your port at exchange - doesnt include any data at all.

TI All Access 2GB 12 Jul-11 Aug = R130.70 - this is your isp cost for the 2gb of data included in your do package with telkom as your isp.

TI-All Access 1 Aug - 11 Aug =R24-95 CR
Not sure what this is - some telkom internet thing - possibly related to your closer option.

Telkom Closer Option 2 12 Aug - 11 Sep =R29.03
Closer fee - what you pay for the option to have free calls/closer benefits.

Wouldnt you be saving alot if you just moved to Closer package 4...
and your account would alot less too read!

I seem to have the same problem and after numerous unsuccesful phone calls I now am trying the internet to help me solve this issue.

I also have the Telkom Closer Option 2 plan, but this month received my account with the following rental charges. I am specifically talking about the TI-AllAccess charges which they charge me three times in one month!!!!!

My statement looks like this:

you need a doctorate in applied maths to work out those telkom statements. you also need to remember that the amounts will be listed excluding VAT.
