Hi,
Thought I would share my experience regarding Telkom and seek some advise from the experienced.
I have a 384k line with a Billion 800vgt router.
On the 12th June, something broke, my telephone was completely dead along with my ADSL. We reported the fault that day. The next day a techie came, he took about 2 hours, and he got us dial tone back. (Apparently exchange equipment failed.) However, my ADSL line synced but we could not dial out at all. The techie then had to phone someone who knows more about ADSL related issues. He then proceeded to the exchange to exchange the DSLAM, which then fixed the problem, or so we thought.
All was well, for a couple of hours.
A few hours later, myself and everyone else who makes use of the internet in the house started noticing a problem. We would be doing something online, and all of a sudden our line would drop, we would loose sync.
We continued to call our technicians daily, about 6 days. Each time, a Telkom guy would come out, look at my router, test his little USB router, and phone, get line tested and no problem.
Now, we are still stuck with this problem. Every now and then, our line drops and telkom can't help.
Line Sync'd at:
Upstream 127500
Downstream 383800
Any input will be valued.
