I am doing a marketing assignment for my degree and topic of my assignment is of an alternative way of communicating other than through
Telkom, for example through Cell C, Vodacom, MTN (I am only looking at
voice transmission and not data).
So, I have been looking at how the mobile operators can be used, but they also expensive so now im looking at how somethng using VoIP like Skype could be of use...
Only thing is that now i need to look at prices of how much broadband and isdn etc and the charges i see from telkom i have been told are not what they seem as there are costs not advertised...
So my question to you guys, since i see you know what you are talking about, is what is how fast does the net have to be for you to make use of skype..? do i need a modem, isdn, adsl, broadband connection and the difference is...? ALso, what are the suppliers for it all, and if you have the prices available...? (this would include Vodacom HSPDA as you can put it in your pc to use skype) ie. a pricelist of all the ADSL ISDN and BROADBAND offerings available in South Africa that a person could get to use Skype.
Also, what other options are available if you want to make a voice call..? Telkom, mobile operators, skype and anything else..?
