My beginner programming thread

I've never understood the language fanboys. They're kind of like science deniers to me, they spout their hatred for x language on a website which is coded in x language. If you hate it that much then don't use it at all I say.

Having a live preview next to you is so convenient, but I suppose I'll manage with constantly pressing ctrl shift alt r to run the code in chrome.

Thats why I suggested just doing it in chrome source. Especially your style sheets and scripts it could save you from carpel tunnel.

Google 'live reload [enter your operating system here]'

Thor has already mentioned it before in this thread.

Why would you want to cater for that?

Well the way I see it some people might have eyes that aren't so great so they view websites at 110% to maybe even 125% if they are sitting a bit further away.

But I'm getting ahead of myself I first need to learn many other things :)

Sorry about that, a lot of things in this thread go over my head, because I either don't understand the jargon or the dicsussion.

Width property? Not sure what you mean by shorter, like in a specific relation to the wording on the line?

Check this out http://getbootstrap.com/
I'm checking out bootstrap atm. I'm not exactly sure how to use it, but I'm gonna google it now.
Uhm yeah like how you can set a pictures width/height I want a the green line to be for example only 150px wide and 25px height

Thank you :) Carpel tunnel is bad ! Okay chrome source ASAP.

So I've switched over to notepad++ from Khan Academy's live viewer completely now, because of KA's limitations and it's quite an adjustment. Having a live preview next to you is so convenient, but I suppose I'll manage with constantly pressing ctrl shift alt r to run the code in chrome.

Brackets have a live preview function, very handy. Brackets is free and my preferred code editor.

Install the Emmet plugin for faster coding.

Okay so having two monitors would be ideal.
I have one lying around at home, now I just need to set it up.

Unfortunately my current wiring is very cable tied -_-'

Oh well, additional project for the day.

This is really cool btw! I can't wait to have live updates!

Yessssss!
This worked perfectly.

I now have the live preview on my left monitor and the code on the right and it updates every time I save. Is there a way to get it to update without saving or am I being a spoiled child?

Haven't downloaded emmet plugin yet though!
