I decided to play some battleground last night. I have a level 37 NE Druid and I played the Warsong Gulch BG. My friend (lvl 36 NE Druid) also played.
The first BG was a lot of fun. We did get our asses kicked, but it was a lot of fun. The wait time was short, about a minute, and the entire game took about a half-hour.
We entered the queue for the second game. After waiting about twenty minutes, I got bored. So I headed to the waterfall that is just behind the portal that connects Darnassus and Rut'theran. Jumping off, I fell for a distance and died. I headed back to my body, resurrected and jumped the next part to the huge branch that sticks out. That resulted in another corpse run
. Then I decided to jump off from the furthest part of the branch. I wanted to see how far it was, since I couldn't see the ground. It took about 20 seconds off falling before I fell into the water that surrounds Teldrassil
. My friend also did the jump, and he managed to change forms several times before hitting the water. And then it took about 20 minutes to swim around the giant tree to reach Rut'theran. After an hour, the BG started.
The second BG was an absolute nightmare. As we head to the middle, we see this lone BE Warlock heading our way. So I start chasing her and 2 other players join me. I remember I was thinking that it would be an easy kill. Three players (39, 37, 35) against a single player and her minion shouldn't give us too much trouble.
NOT. She killed all three of us in about 10 seconds. And she only lost half her health. Considering I was using cat-form for DPS and the lvl39 was a rogue, I was a little shocked.
This first battle basically set the theme for the rest of the game. She would basically camp out at our base, and it was extremely difficult to get her out. It would usually take about 5-6 players attacking to kill her. And she would basically do the same thing when she gets resurrected. My friend and I were swearing up a storm last night about that. I found out later that while cat or bear form doesn't help a lot, spells seemed to be more effective against her.
All the other horde players just basically camped around their own flag most of the time. It would take a lot of effort to get the flag and praying you don't run into the lock on the way back. We did manage to capture at least one flag.
And then, about two minutes before the BG ends, we start lagging and disconnecting. Trying to reconnect didn't work. My friend had to restart his router and then I was able to connect again. By then the BG has ended and I didn't get anything.

After quitting, I decided to check out the lock on the Armory. Her items were mostly blues, with a few greens and two purples. And all of her items add either to spell damage, or to shadow spell damage. I decided to check out how much extra damage in total. 156 extra damage in total
. No wonder she managed to kill us so fast.
