Yeah - sorry - its either on my household or my business one - cant recall which.

I'll have to look at the policy later and let you know about cost.

I would like to know as I would like to insure my cam on the house insurance before I leave for Mozambique :D
 
Congrats Mercurial! You'll have fun with it - it's an awesome piece of kit (despite what the nikon and sony fanboys say :p)

AFAIK, that unfortunately won't work. You will have to do an all risks for that. Check with your friendly insurance salesman.

Thanks. That is definitely on my list :) I also want the 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM one too :) Oh, and the 100mm f2.8 macro :p

Had a look from before I went on my lens buying spree and I had one camera and one lens - total insured value r14500.00 - under my business all risk at under r50pm

congrats on the cam Mercurial... many happy snapping. :)

i just called outsurance and under the all risk "out and about" cover it will cost me R60 a month to insure a cam (value R8500) and lens (R2k). i asked them to send me the details of the cover so i can read over it.



is there anyone else to call for a quick quote?

Okay, I took a few pics but will upload one. That's if flickr.com would stop being an *******. I'm having endless problems trying to get an account, after I just got my yahoo account. Anyway, I'm glad I hung around these photography threads for so long. Once the camera's battery was fully charged, I could immediately start shooting, which was great, cos I knew what to do.
 
You can check my flickr stream. I only uploaded one photo though and I'm still pretty new to all this, so don't be too harsh on me :)
 
From which application? If you're using Photoshop's "Export for web" or something such, you lose EXIF and colour profile, so don't.
