Well i think this may be their "give ppl extra bandwidth so every last byte gets used" thing, or flexy cap as they call it. Ive been saveing my cap and on about the 23rd i went over the 3 gig and decided to rape the account, and well its the 27th and and I downloaded 16.5 gig so far (mostly books and training vids). If this is flexi cap's doing then I'm all for it, as uncompetitve as it might be.
My theory is that they have a program monitoring the usage of the adsl subscriber base, and if the ussage rate is too high they cap the hevy users (based on their usage so far this month), that makes the usage rate drop, and then they uncap them again wich in turn makes the usage rate raise agian. If this is the case it would be nice to see a webpage that shows you the cap you should stay under to still be uncapped. That way you can get the most out of your adsl without the trouble of a cap. And even if you mismanage a day you only have 1 day of capped internet before you can go on.
If telkom does this right they might actually move a point down on my sh*tlist.
