Took my car in for it's yearly service, did less than 3000km the past year. It just stands outside in front of the house most of the time.

I noticed that my car could very well become carbon neutral since moss is starting to grow on it :D

Will see how much of my "car garden" is left after it gets back from the service.
 
The reason the mileage per year is so low is because 95% of my commutes are by bicycle and if we ever go anywhere as a family we use the larger Astra. It clocks up more than 15,000km a year. My Corsa on the other hand is more of a driveway decoration.

If it was a VW I would expect it to have rust by now :whistle:

Sies, it looks more like a varkhok than a green car. Shame on you. :o

And by the way VW at least has a 15 year warranty not to rust. It's not 1975 any more (Golf one days). ;)
 
I keep the interior spotless, cause that's were I spend most of my time with the car. Shame, poor thing could do with a wash I guess. Took it to the car wash back in April

I have been tempted to do that way to many times. The idea of getting a nice S-class or 7-series which I also almost never drive is very tempting. But right now it would be a massive loss for me. I paid R160k for the car in 2010 and if I sell it now I would be lucky to get R80k for it. This is also a fairly cheap car to maintain and while it is not a lot the 100 horses under the bonnet gives me enough driving joy on the odd occasion I do drive it.

So no, I have to resist the temptation to sell my green car.
 
I was not suggesting buying another car.

the loss is only going to grow, you could use the cash someone else, also theres insurance etc

the cost of owning the car is quite high if you do not drive the car

you can rent a super car, go on track days etc if you wish to have a driving experience occasionally, it will probably work out the same in terms of cost
 
Thanks FiestaST for reminding me about the moss. It's been through the car wash twice since last time, but that only makes the moss grow faster. Took the moss out for some rain and fresh air today, it looks so green and happy.

You should wash your car. Moss probably growing near rubber in other areas... which leads to rust.
