Hey guys, im new to the whole Iburst thang and i dunno / Seems like my connection is supa slow or mayb i've done sumthang wrong??? Firstly i ran iburst through its usb and ran utTraceStar The results i got are as follows:

2006/09/07 11:33:01 PM,16,Kyalami Castle,-98,16,5,2,4/10 very poor
2006/09/07 11:33:32 PM,16,Kyalami Castle,-95,16,5,2,5/10 Poor

to be honest the connection is kinda bareable, but then i connected my iburst through my wireless router which is a Netgear (wgt624) and my network card is built in2 the motherboard on my desktop pc which is Intel(R) PRO/100 VE NETWORK CONNECTION (Network Status speed -- 100mbps) Then the internet basically becomes unexistent, crawls to a halt. Connected my laptop to the wireless router and same thang / internet is sloooooow. Seriously i dont know which way to turn, is it because i have a weak signal??? do i needs an aerial? is it the built in network card? Could i have done sumthang wrong with the router 4 it to be soo sloooow?? oh yes saw sumwhere about mtu - and this on the router is set to 1500.

Any help would b extremely grateful

K cool i'll try thats... Also a mate said its prolly coz im using the routers wizard to setup the iburst internet connection he said i should set it up manually but wheneva i try thats it doesnt werk? me gets gun.

I setup my router with the wizard first time around, and it worked fine once I set the MTU.

An antenna with a large Db gain could make a big difference.

You could use an antenna, but as for your router problems, I use the same router so things should be fine. First off set the MTU.. and then.. um actualy thats it. An MTU of 1352 is all you can set on that router. It should make a difference though.

IS it still bad when you set that? You can also try putting in the DNS adress manually, not that it should mater much, but if you want to try it the DNS servers are:
Primary : 196.30.31.193
Secondary : 196.46.70.1

@ work at the mo - but i'll give all ure suggestions a go when i get home... Shot for all your help! Another thang i have is a Netgear wireless network card, would that be better than the built in motherboard one?? I tried setting the wireless netgear card and it connects 2 the router but i cant access the router settings via internet explorer with it. I would imagine if i could get the wifi card 2 werk with the router i could put the router in a better location for signal - Hmm damn network is giving me grey hair hehe
Thanks again for all the help its deff appreciated!!!!

The wifi card is fine, especially if its going to get you better singal as you can move the router. As long as youve set everything up normally it should connect fine..

If you have MAC adress allowed lists or encryption you just have to make shure the wireless connection has that all sorted out. And make shure the IP is right if you dont use DCHP.

All i can say is "Thankyou"!!! Everything is all setup and werking. even got the damn wifi card to work - Thanks again!
