omg, it doesn't wanna go past the logo!
switches on and then stucks, i have to pull the battery out, to put it off and restart it!
bought it at reviva technology in february 2006!
what can i do? any nifty technicians out there who can work these?

Does it have a memory card in or something? Try removing it and switch it on. Try different batteries as well ;)

no memory card in it, actually never used one before.
i have two batteries and both don't work!
this sucks!

thank, registering right now.
How do i re-initialize it?
It bombs out before the menu, my pc can't even recognise that its a zen!
its like it just freezes!

I quote:

Creative Zen Vision

Detach the Zen Vision player from your PC , and ensure that the player turned off.
2. Remove the battery.

3. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to

the Zen Vision. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears.

It will display the following options.

Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.

Does not affect music files themselves.

Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!

Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.

Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.

DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.

Reboot Reboots the device.

hmmmm, time to upgrade to an apple iPod? :D

You gotta be kidding me.

The Creative Zen Vision has a 640by480 res screen
(beats iPod, and iPod touch) which have 320by240.
Can play more video formats than the iPod which can
only play low bitrate H264 quicktime files in basic
profile. The CZV can play: MPEG4, Mpeg2, Mpeg1, MJPEG, AVI,
WMV etc. It can play DivX and xViD files which the iPod
cannot do.
Radio, voice recorder, CF card reader, etc.

that sounded a little gay, but thanks a million, well actually R4000, which i spent on this baby almost 3years ago.
its ALIVE!
nifty trick, didn't know my zen had a recovery button!
Should i upgrade the firmware again? are you using the latest(if you can even call it that, why don't the offer later versions?) one?

CZV kicks ipods ass hands down, hardly convert (which take ages) any movies and series! Plus you can actually watch a movie on it!

Glad it worked out.

You can upgrade the latest firmware I guess, but the latest is from 2006 I think.
Read each FW's readme and decide if the benefits really warrent the effort.

Yip, i'm smilling from ear to ear, i'm so happy, i'm looking forward to my exams tomorrow!
weird. i'm not even going to study, watching the zen whole night!
