my cap magically goes up by itself without me or my family
touching the internet for the weekend..

this weekend passed.. i chatted for 3hrs max.. thats it.. and voila
400MB magically gets added 2 my monthly usage.. o joy 2 the world.

this capping needs 2 be reviewed by telkom and fixed ASAP !!!

Is this chatting text based (irc), voice, or video? 3 hours of audio/ video could give you that 400Mb, but not if you used IRC or some instant messanger.

Hi...
I dunno how secure your machine is, but I'd check for Ad and Spyware installations that may be sending data out (still, not 400MB worth tho), and other possible back doors. Make sure you use a decent firewall, as this should prevent most of these problems.
Secondly, if you're running Windows XP (and 2000 I think), check that your automatic updates are set to manual, and that your machine is not downloading all the latest service packs it's heart desires.
Just some ideas.
