I ordered several items from wish.com. But I have had nothing but grief.
In two instances, I was sent the wrong items and not what I had ordered at all.
However, although wish.com refunded me, I still lost out as, upon receipt of each item, I had to pay clearance charges of R32.92 each time at the Post Office in respect of which, wish.com did not refund me. Furthermore, I also suffered further loss due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Then, in two instances, the items that I had ordered arrived all damaged. The Sellers simply sent the items in a flimsy, thinly padded envelope and it is no wonder that the items got damaged in the post. Again, although wish.com refunded me, I still lost out due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate and not being refunded the postal clearance charges that I had incurred.
To complicate matters, in two further instances, the items delivered no way accorded with the descriptions the Sellers had given in their listing of the items on the website. For instances a cellphone holster that apparently was claimed to be of genuine leather turned out to be just cheap plastic! And what was touted as “polarized sunglasses” hardly blocked the sun at all. Yet again, although wish.com refunded me, I still lost out as before.
Software (including Microsoft Windows and Office) is also listed on the website at a most ridiculously low price. It was simply hard to believe. Anyway, I ordered Microsoft Office 2019. It was priced for just a few dollars and, although it was stated that the Seller would send a download link for the software and an activation key by email to buyers, yet postal charges were applied. But why should there postal charges when no physical delivery would take place? Anyway, when I queried this with wish.com, I received no response.
To cut a long story short, the Seller failed to execute the order and, although I received a refund from wish.com, I still lost out due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate.
Lastly, one item appears to have just disappeared upon arrival in South Africa. Tracking history indicates that the item did arrive in South Africa and subsequently was handed to customs. But thereafter, there is no further update on tracking history. The parcel appears to have gone astray somewhere. Even the Post Office could not trace the item on its system and I am merely told that I will be notified when the parcel arrives at the Post Office.
However, since a considerable length of time had elapsed, and having not received any notification from the Post Office, I complained to wish.com. Fortunately wish.com promptly refunded me but to date, there is still no trace of the parcel.
Sadly that has been my experience but has anyone else also had a similar experience? I am just curious to know. It would be most interesting.
