Sadly no wall of text just straight to it.

Went to the centre by sandton, the service was fast and i think i was a total of maybe 10mins there from walk in to walk out.

Got home everything installed fine (was a freshly formatted machine) and got connected. This sadly is where the fun ends...

Constant request time outs and when it finally got a little stable this is what speedtest gave me

Whats even more disappointing is that my vodacom card had more "woosh" to it then Cell C

Ah well back to cell c for a refund, had high hopes

Same here, now I always expect a hiccup when getting something that involves internet.

Mine was also erratic on the first day when I got it - then it got better thereafter on.

Maybe try again tomorrow and see if it makes any difference?

I sometimes wonder if people are expecting actual connection speeds of 7.2Mbps and 21Mbps?

I dont really care about the speed, all i want is reduced request time outs and signal drops. This is my big issue with cell providers, they all in a rush to be the "fastest" instead of working on making their networks stable. Whats the point of having a 21mbps a second connection if it doesnt even stay connected?

Is this what people mean by a download accelerator? :D

Seriously though, if your problem is disconnections, it may be due to this issue which seems to be affecting some people recently. Otherwise, it could be due to a poor signal. What is your RSSI?

To see your RSSI in the Cell C dashboard, go to Tools, Diagnostics, click on the Network Status tab.

ye iv read that thread and gonna try a few things over the weekend, appreciate the input.

well i got to admit that i was wrong about Cell C...

Im generally very jaded when it comes to wireless soley because of the horrid experience i had with VC at my old place. So when on the 1st day i get the modem and it already starts giving me hassles i got tunnel vision. But after scrounging the forums saw a few tricks that helped and also thought maybe Cell C was having a bad day I decided to try again, well i do have a 7 day return window. Well since then i have been getting great signal and a CONSTANT STABLE connection, which for me is 1st prize. Im playing black ops (PC) at between 50-70ms constantly and my speedtest put me at 5mb down and 3 up.

Now im guessing things might change with more ppl coming on in my area so hopefully cell c keeps up, please keep this up Cell C!

Mine is different every day...today it was 5mbs and yesterday 2mbs....so its not really consistant.
