I have successfully developed and completed my first iOS app, and which is now available download in the App Store. The app is titled "HangmanShark" and is 100% FREE! It is based on the classic hangman, with a shark theme.

There are 4 categories, ie. movies, music, sport and science/technology. There are over 400 questions in each category, with varying degrees of difficulty. It promises to be hours of fun (and quite educational). Or at least an entertaining way of killing some free time!

Please feel free to check it out....download is free....comments and ratings will appreciated!

100% Proudly South African!

Kind Regards

Congrats, do you have an Android version coming up?

Im in the process of investigating the effort required to develop an Android version, as there has been numerous requests for this. Will keep you posted!

Wow great app! I like how there's a new twist to the original game. I hope there's an android version soon, because I'm using Samsung S3 right now!

Downloading now ... Thanks for putting your game in Entertainment, where us deprived South Africans have a chance of getting at it.

South Africa has got talent - it's AYOBA :-)

Wow! It is such a pleasure to see an app developed by a South African and furthermore, the trivia includes many South African related questions. We certainly lack such talent in South Africa and I hope you will be upgrading soon as I'm eager to try more questions. The font titles are not very clear but considering that this is your first app, it's really very good, so well done!:) The child adds that personal touch to it, close to home:)

Awesomeness! Did you use objective C? (I'm interested coz someone asked about an Android port.) Have you looked into monogame at all for cross platform dev? I started coding first for XBOX with C# and XNA so mono was a natural step to port to iOS. I haven't got things quite working in Android yet, but that's also because I'm scared of the overwhelming number of devices that need to be supported.

I'll definitely check it out. Sounds fun...

Thank you all for the positive comments and reviews. To answer some of the questions,

I am still investigating the option of creating an Android version. As I have just taught myself (or rather still teaching myself) Objective-C (foundation for iOS programming), I am pre-occupied and cant really find the time to start learning Java (for Android). But I definitely see a market for Android devices....its just a matter of time.

@iTtitude - User interface has now been improved in V1.2 which makes it much more user friendly.

@.just.si - Im still an amateur in the iOS programming. Yes, its C# programming and I currently use Apples Xcode environment. Havent really looked at other options at the moment. And yes, Android does seem overwhelming at the moment. But maybe, its not as bad as it looks!

V1.2 is now available! See next post!

HangmanShark V1.2

Although I try to make it as "South African" as possible, the questions are meant to be from all over the world. The app is a global app and available on all app stores, and I have to try to make it so that it appeals to everyone.

However with that being said, I have introduced a special category "Just SA", which contains questions about this wonderful country in which we live. Whether you are South African or not, Im sure this category will appeal to you. You will either learn new things you never knew, or get to know the real SA. Questions in this category cover people, places, history, sport, culture, slangs, etc. "Word Play" will definitely get your mind working, with unique riddles andword trvia, etc. These are avilable via an In-App Purchase (R7.99) which unlocks four additional categories and over 2000 more questions! Its a small price for double the fun!

What's New in Version 1.2

- Improved User Interface and Layout
- Added support for Iphone 5 resolution
- Added four additional categories and over 2000 new questions (via an In-App Purchase). This includes "Famous Places", "Food & Drink", "Word Play" and "Just South Africa"
- Country specific compatibility changes

Is it worthwhile paying Apple $100 a year so people can use you app for free? Apple should sponsor us poor saffers with free accounts.
