My first sunset(decent)

Nice - I think its nice to have a hill or something in the picture.

Here's one from the other night before I had to return my lens rental. :o

Did anyone living in Sunninghill see the sky last night (especially over Lonehill & Paulshof), around 19h00? I am not into photography & I myself pulled over for a minute or 2 just to have a proper look.

Really AWESOME stuff....

nice shots there, SK33T & bwana (what lens rental?)
Thanks, the camera did all the work though - I just had to hold the blinking thing up. (300mm f/2.8 IS L etc) :D

Yes, but the timing came from you. It was not the camera that went there at that time of the day.

Was a great holiday we hired a camper van for 12 days we did 6000kms but honestly can say we saw namibia, would like to go a bit futher north next time as we didnt have a 4x4 etosha and caprivi strip is my next goal and also getting there Id like to cut through botswana.

Will upload more pics into my gallery for u guys.

Done a few trips up through Bots to the Caprivi. One of the best we went up the Western side of Bots and through some tiny border post below Khaudum National park (Nam side). The locals had to go find the Border guard to stamp our passports and let us through the gate. That was an awesome trip. DEFINATELY need a couple 4x4 for that type of trip. Plenty soft Kalahari sand to get stuck in. We didn't see much wildlife, except birds, until we reached the western end of the Caprivi then good roads all the way across to Kasani. Good roads unless you go the scenic, read recommended, route. Then back down through Chobe to "civilisation." Man, those were the days. :D

Maddy thx for the advice will look into it,and u say those where the days???????????? lol my friend u not getting any younger,do it now.
Me and the wife have made a commitment to save R2000 a month so that when holiday time comes we dont battle.

Also have reserves for lens rentals,LOL.

But generaly speaking Namibia is a beautiful country, was heart breaking crossing the border comming back here.

Yeah McT its a great place but u have to drive to see it all,and when I say drive I mean drive.

That pic was the best of about 10 photies,Ive looked at it on this site but it doesnt do justice to the original.

Ive printed it on A2 size looks stunning, just need to find a decent framming place.

You need to link to the actual image not the page

I have no way to gauge the relative fast or slow shutter speed.

To catch that bird I know it was fast - but how fast is fast? Can - for example - a cheap P&S do the same thing and catch fast images?

Not a sunset but I dont think we have a sunrise thread.
