Well.. one of them anyway. Its the secondary monitor on my PC

It died a few months ago, sent it in. It took 3 days but they repaired it under warranty. Tonight exactly the same thing happened. The first monitor is going strong. Do you think I can demand a new one? its more than halfway into its 2 year warranty..

If I have said it once I will say it again - LG = Lousy Goods - I have learnt that the hard way as well.

ok so I sent the flatron in to CRT in Sandton on monday.
I puch for a new one, they guy says he has to make a report and send it to lg to approve a new one.
Fine I say.
Yesterday they phone me and say: come and fetch your old monitor and a replacement voucher and take it back to get a new one. so I ask : take it back where? Back to the place you bought it..
Not good I say, I bought it from HIFI corp, they are sticky about slips and I lost mine..
They say its not problem, they are giving me a voucher for a new one, they won't have a problem. HAPPY :) I think...

I fetch the voucher today and head off to boksburg HIFI corp...
This fist thing the dude says to me is "I can't help without a slip"
No,no I say, here is a voucher for a new one.. all you have to do is send this one to lg and give me a new one..
He looks a bit confused..
Says to me, come and speak to may manager:
The manager is Farhud " Customer Service" manager..
I stand by Farhuds desk for about 2 minuets while he ignores before I eventually say 'EXCUSE ME.." to get his attention..
He looks at me as if I just farted in his office....
My blood is boiling just a bit..
I tell him the story:
He says I must go and sit in front and he will deal with it..
I ask when? I am in a hurry and you have a voucher..
He says: I am busy now, I will get to it..
I persist.. When, in the next ten minuets?
He says no. I have been busy with this for about half an hour and I will be busy with it for a while still...
I blow my top. I say Get me YOUR manager...
The Branch manager comes. I rev the guy about his "Service Manager"s attitude. I tell him the story, while I am telling him the story Farhud interups and starts argueing with me about what was said..
The branch manager says it will be sorted.
I go and wait for a good 40 min before Farhud comes out and says he can't exchange the monitor without the cables..I say YOU HAVE A VOUCHER!!!!
CRT kept the cables.. besides YOU HAVE A VOUCHER!!
He says to the other guy there: Go and get a monitor for about R1100
I blow my top, I say I want THE SAME MODEL OR BETTER because YOU HAVE A VOUCHER!!

He gives me another fart look, They go off. The other guy comes back with the same monitor (newer model). He says : I am just going to give you the monitor, I am keeping the cables
I say no, you are going to give me the whole thing.
He says: well then I am keeping the box :eek:
I say: I want the whole thing, IN THE BOX.. Because YOU HAVE.. agg just give me the damn thing already....

Sheesh.

Ok so you got the monitor? YOU HAVE A VOUCHER! :D

Good luck with this one. ;)

ROFL!! Oh my word I laughed so hard reading this!
Damn Hi-Fi Corruption is unbelievable. Problem is they all too damn thick and they never listen. So unless the procedure is going down like they were taught it should in their 3.5 minute training session, they don't know what to do and start getting all pissy

As a rule I always steer well clear of Hifi corp. I just doesn't feel right buying from them, you don't know what you getting. ;)

Yeah also staying away from them its not worth it when you need to take something back. But dam this threat is funny :D

I think that at the end of the day it all comes down to how well you train your staff. Unfortunately i assume that Hi-Fi, like other retailers, have a high staff turnover and their lack of training shows.
Anyways, i hate shopping at big retailers where i have to resort to standing in a queue to return anything. Time is money......:p
