Sunsynk also has decent HA integration, real time monitoring and remote management
Apart from that and being a more established brand, there's also the modularity which is attractive. If one component breaks, you don't have to take the whole inverter in...

Most impressive!!! keen to see the production stats etc. Any reason you went with Pylon vs say a freedom won / dyness / hubble?
so still the first day so tiny sample but the system is cruising. took a few hours this morning to get the batteries charged to 100% - I think the panels went up to about 5.7kw mid morning but then just dropped right down cause the batteries were fully charged and the consumption has been low. Will be very interesting to see how the PV's perform tomorrow when the bad weather rolls in.

What a system wow.

( I know this is nit picking, but if you spend that money let them close the end caps of the trunking at least :p )

I currently pay city power about R1000 per month on network, connection, surcharges and whatever other fees can be passed onto the paying customers.

I am thinking that going prepaid will work out cheaper because there is no network fee. Even if the cost per kWh is higher, I wouldn't be consuming all that much from city power. I already have the meter installed , so I'm guessing no big costs to move. Any advice on prepaid vs post paid for my situation would be appreciated.

I did notice that. they aren't totally finished, still have a few tidy up bits and re-wiring of the db board so I'm sure it will get done.

Why 2 x small Victrons instead of 1 x big one?
Perhaps redundancy - I don't know, was just advised not to go with the 10 kva Quattro. There is a potential moving of my borehole onto this system and would then go with another 5kva Multiplus.

Seems strange.

Now you have all sorts of load balancing complexity and likely additional costs for the split system aren’t far off additional cost of the next one up.

I guess 10 kw unit would be overkill so likely a costing issue as they maybe don’t have a 7-8 and just built it to work like this from a design perspective.

Have you tried to source those end caps?

I ended up designing and 3d printing my own.

It's very neat install otherwise, so it would be a shame if they didn't do it.
Congratulations!
