In the past 2 days, some (not all) of my outgoing emails bounced back with various error messages, e.g. the recipient's server is blacklisted, the recipient's address cannot be found, etc.

This morning one of the bounced email's error message says that the sending IP (i.e. mine) is listed on https://spamrl.com/.

Anything I can do to resolve this?

Do you have a static IP?

If you have static IP you have been spamming the wrong people :p

If you have a dynamic IP it just means someone used it before you got allocated it and now you're on this IP till you get a new one on reconnection from the ISP's side. If on Dynamic phone your ISP, let them know and get you re-connected with a different IP.

Guys, I am just a typical end user, so you're gonna have to help me in plain English, please. Static and dynamic IP? Can you explain please? :)

Actually it is most likely the IP address of your ISPs mail server that has been blocked - assuming that you use their mail servers.

Give them a call and ask them.

You can power down your router for 5 minutes and then power on and see if that helps. If that doesn't work then as Necro said. The company you are using for mail / internet should be able to help you resolve the problem so give them a call.

I'd imagine that blunomore isn't running a mail server and is connecting to one hosted by an ISP somewhere.

So getting a the router assigned a new IP address isn't going to make any difference.

If you're still having the similar issue, just post the exact responses, including the codes.

Also, is this for your own domain?

I recently had an issue where my email/domain was spoofed, which caused it to be totally blacklisted. The only thing you can really do to avoid this is ask your ISP to set your DMARC to reject and ensure that your SPF records are authorized for only your server, or ISP's server.

My ISP is MWeb.

I called them and they said that since my outgoing server is MTN, I must talk to them.

o so your using the MTN SMTP.

No wonder. Can't your ISP give you an SMTP to use? They will give you the SMTP address, add that to your mail settings and Bob's your uncle.

Lave your POP3 details as is, just change the SMTP to
For MWEB ADSL, outgoing server is smtp.mweb.co.za
(Assuming your using ADSL. Which I suspect you're not since you using the MTN SMTP )

Done.

However it will not work if you connecting with an MTN simcard.

change your outgoing mail server to smtpauth.mweb.co.za and set it to use basic authentication and to use your email address and password for authentication, or if you can - set it to use the same settings as your incoming mail settings for authentication.

Your domain/email are most likely on shared hosting. Either you or one of the other people on the server has a virus (or an infected website) and is spamming the world. You need to phone your ISP and get them to find out what is causing your IP to get black listed and for them to delist your IP with the blacklists.

If this happens regularly I would ask them for a dedicated IP so you are not impacted by other people polluting the area or upgrade to professional enterprise hosting (which is not cheap).

Get your own hosted domain/email from somewhere like Hetzner which is R19 per month for the micro plan.
Or use another pure hosting service, as hosting is their main focus and this kinda thing is watched more closely.

You could be sharing an IP with a nigerian prince for you all you know.

Her problem is she's using an MTN sim to connect via 3G. She can't use any other SMTP than the MTN one.

Unless she connects to a remote server with ADSL
