Well it's been around a year and a half since that tragic and confusing day!
But today, people have returned from overseas to this remote corner of the world to scatter the ashes of Stennie on the tall sand dunes to the east of our town.
I have organised about thirty people in a couple of 4x4 vehicles and at 15H30 this fine day we shall head out to scatter our friend's ashes over the desert sands.
The dunes were chosen as Stennie played in these tall dunes as a kid, rode motorbikes through them during his twenties and para glided off them in his 30's .
His family have asked me to organise shot glasses and a few stiff toots for a toasting, then we head back to the Irishman's Guesthouse where we do a traditional braai.
I shall be heading over to the guesthouse around 13H00 to deliver seven cases of Namibia's finest, assorted bottles of wines and cooldrinks. A ton of meat and wood go with.
This will be the final send off for an amazing friend!
