Look out for a Pentax K100D Super or Nikon D40. They're about as cheap as they come at the moment. Both are excellent cameras. I have some pics from the Pentax up on my flickr. The Nikon has some funny restrictions with regards to lenses - you might want to check that with someone who knows the Nikon details.
