It seems that I have a problem to set up my router. I bought the other day a
router DLink 504T and I dont now how to setup this thing. I cannot connect
to eMule anymore. It gives me always a lowID and askes me to set up my
connection. I have forwarded ports but I am not sure I did right.

Please can anybody help me with the setup?

Celemasiko ... your PC specs ain't going to help one bit in solving your problem :).

I believe Dlink utility can dump it's configuration into a file called config.xml.

Can you repost it here ???.

here is the file, a bit long but...
Celemasiko, I think you will have to remove the hidden attribute on that file to disengage its cloaking device :D

Whoa, what happened to your post - it is also invisible...

You can download it here...

XML File

btw password in the file is no longer valid...*ggg*

OK. I was just about to take this post out.

I trust the dsl account details in that file are not valid - if so, change it pronto...

Right, I haven't looked at the contents of the xml file since I haven't got a clue about router stuff, but I am eagerly awaiting t.d's insight & hopefully Celemasiko's problem will be resolved :)...

Celemasiko ... your port forwarding seems to be configured correctly.

I did some googling and found a few postings about the Dlink 504T/604T (wireless model) and eMule in general.

It seems their bloody firmware is buggered again i.r.o available NAT sessions.

See

1) Open a MSDOS Prompt
2) type: "telnet x.x.x.x" where "x.x.x.x" is the IP address of your ADSL-G604T. Tipically it will be "telnet 192.168.1.1"
3) Once there, type "root" as username and router web server password as "Password"
4) Type "echo 2048 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_conntrack_max"
5) Type "exit"
6) Close MSDOS Prompt

"Now try to toy with maximum connections in your favourite file sha*ing program. In emu*e, you could try with 600."

Next time Celemasiko ... get something decent like a Netgear ;).

I am very sorry, **GG** netgear will be definite my next choice

btw. should I switch my DHCP off and distribute static IP's?

I am just busy trying it out...I will keep you informed.

So test is done, but still no better result. I still get this message...

Testing IP: ge1-0.cc2.jnb6.alter.net (196.30.245.149)

Starte TCP-Verbindungstest...
TCP-Test fehlgeschlagen! Der UDP-Test wird übersprungen.

Verbindungstest beendet.
