*sigh*

So thousands of people won't vote because their "one" vote won't count...

Remember don't vote, don't complain

LOL, so 22% if people think they won't make a difference?

Come on people. EVERY vote counts!

Don't be an ostrich... VOTE!!!

if this was 1994 would you be saying that?

if this is one time you need to register, this is it

if you don't vote then you have no right to make any comments concerning politics, government or the policies they implement.

VIVA Congress of the People...VIVA!!!! (I may have to edit this part when the name changes again :D)

The previous 2 elections I coudn't be bothered, but definately voting in this one. With the current political situation we have good chance of getting a more "balanced" government without one party having a 2/3 majority.

Provincial votes are going to be even more important. While I think the ANC is going to keep Gauteng, FS, Limp, NW and MPU, there are going to be interesting contests in:
WC - where the DA / ID coalition should win
NC - where the ID has a strong chance of winning (largely coloured population)
EC - Be interesting to watch, but the new party (whatever its name is) might attract strong support, with Zuma being a Zulu man.
KZN - Interesting. Zuma is a Zulu which will gain some support, however we might see a resurgence of the IFP.

In short, while you might not change national politics, your vote could go a long way in terms of the province.

For those of us in CT, this would be especially useful for service delivery, as it would mean that CT is able to do its job without having to fight the WC administration.

In Austalia, you are fined $100 if you don't vote. That's why in their last election, 96% of eligible people voted - What a great idea!

They also have record numbers of spoiled, blank and donkey votes. Probably gives a better impression of how people feel about the state and politicians.
