My Telkom woes

After getting my ADSL installed last year within 6 weeks, I was content.

December 2005 I moved to another flat in the same building (from nr 23 to 52). Beginning of January I phoned Telkom to ask for a line transfer.
I had to fax it through they said. OK, no problem. I fax it. 2 weeks later I phone them to hear how the progress is going.

They never got my fax.

Ok. I send another one. 2 weeks later I phoned again. They didn't receive that one either... I phone a number i got from a friend. A KZN number. The lady there says I don't need to fax I can do it over the phone... ok.

It's done. I wait. And continue to pay for the line rental of course. Even though I can't use it.
At the end of February, middle of march and beginning of April I phone them. Each time I'm told they're waiting on an install date, or even that ADSL isn't available in my area (3 other people in my building have ADSL).

7th of April I phone again. At last I get an operator who seems to care and she finds out that there's a cable problem? She phones technical department and gets me an installation date.

At last!

It's the 5th of May.

4 months after I sent the first fax.
 
I just hope they are going to refund the rental for those months. Thats why i am reluctant to install an adsl with telkom- just staying with mtn prepaid data bundle for the time being.

LOL - that seems to be one of their favourite excuses. I guess they hoping people don't talk to other people in their area. :p
