Saw Ojo's thread and decided to share what I recently got.

I had i3-2120, H77 board, 8GB 1600Mhz RAM, Windows 7 64bit, HD7850 2GB, Transcend 128GB SSD, Coolermaster 550w PSU bronze, LG dvd writer.

I now have: i7-4790K, AsRock Z97 Extreme 4, 16GB 1866MHz RAM, Windows 8.1 64bit, Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX980 4GB, Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD, Thermaltake Level 10 GT, EVGA G2 1000W PSU Gold, LG bluray writer. Cost around $2500

Sadly I have seen a little artifacting here and there yesterday so might have to take the GPU back.

I used to barely get 55fps on low settings in Battlefield 4, now I get 130fps all on ultra with shadow play recording at 60fps.

I need to get a water cooler for the CPU as it hits 80 degrees. Seems I can only get a 240mm radiator for the top.

I am looking to get another GTX980 and a 144hz monitor soon.

Cool rig.

Sounds like something is wrong with the CPU cooling though...80 doesn't sound right even for stock cooling unless you overclocked it or its not fitted right.

Any chance of getting a gsync screen?

I'm not sure really as it only happened yesterday, I have been unable to see the artifacting in the shadow play recordings but I guess that is to be expected.

CPU sticks at around 32C on idle at gets up to 70 - 80 while gaming Battlefield 4, I have been told that this is to be expected, I have not overclocked the CPU at all, I think it is boosting to 4.4 from 4.0 automatically though given how CPU hungry Battlefield 4 is.

I am thinking of getting this screen as I really don't like tearing but I don't like the input delay with V-Sync: http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z...PG278Q------The-world-s-first-WQHD-G-SYNC-mon

I spent less than double what you spent for the rig in my sig o.0

Yeah it's strange with the exchange rate, not easy to see if it's more or less expensive given that I am earning dollars here. Luckily I'm not too worried as I don't need a rig like yours as I only game on my PC :P

At the current exchange rate I've spent under $4000 on the tower alone (excluding software, monitors, peripherals etc).

Wow, that's insane man, I was thinking of getting a X99 system, would of cost me $500 more but decided to rather just get a Z97 and save a little.

If it's not overclocked you can probably score 5c with some undervolt until you arrange some better cooling. 80 is pretty close to that cpus throttling temp of I'm not mistaken. Still as you say they do seem to run a touch hot.

Be sure to post a gsync review if you do get that screen.

Also...maybe a dust filter...regret not getting one for my last box

Will try my best to do a review, I will only get the monitor in a few weeks time though, case has dust filters on all intakes.

Here's a review on the monitor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdqTIfNv2DE

when I got my 4770k was running 100 degrees with CPU burn in, it then canned the test as the thermal limit is 105. The stock intel cooler is *** for heavy usage. I replaced it with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Turbo. Cheap R550 and CPU burn in reached about 75 degrees, now it barley reaches 65 in BF4
