I have a 1997 golf 1.3 and its starting to give me grief. the other day when i switched on the ignition the light that indicates the brights is on came on even though the lights wasn't even on and the rev counter jumped up and down and it wouldn't start. i know a bit about cars and so i checked under the hood. nothing that i could see and when i switch it on i can hear the coil making a noise like shorting. after fiddling around i discovered its the main wiring harness. after just wiggling it the problem went away but now the battery is fried

this car is testing my patients, the engine has been completely re done at a cost of R10 000 after only 100 000km and i kid you not, the steering rack has also been replaced and now this.
i really want to sell it but how much will i get for it? R25 000? more? its not that i don't have the money to buy a new car it just seems a wast for me at the moment.......................
i would probably never buy a VW again

Edit: When its working fine its all good but at the moment the negatives is more than the pos ugh
