MyADSL Movie Thread

Cloverfield out this weekend. Looks good to me. Haven't heard a lot about this movie at all. Anyone seen it yet or heard anything at all?

I'm increasing my Kurosawa collection by adding this 2 disk set,
No Regrets for Our Youth and I Live in Fear. I'm especially looking
forward to seeing the first film :).

Kurosawa's one of my favourite directors.

Those who enjoy central European cinema of more recent
times should see "Kytice" or Wild Flowers, a Czech film filled
with country folklore. I could only locate a copy at SuperHappyFun
but it was worth it.

Think i'm going to check out Cloverfield tomorrow...Looks like it might be the kind of mindless entertainment I am in need of right now:)
 
Finally got around to watching Lost in Translation. As mentioned, very good.
Watched Contact again. Damn, still one of my favs.

I liked how the movie brought out the best and worst of mankind, and the whole faith/science debate. Even the science part was awesome.

There is this one piece of excellent camera work. When young ellie runs to the medicine cabinet to get her fathers heart medication, the follow her running from the first story to the second one, up to the medicine cabinet in one smooth shot, but then they show you you were watching the reflection in the mirror. Awesome directing.
 
I just watched the movie "Perfume". It was extremely good. Highly recommended.

Just back from Cloverfield. Thought it was brilliant. Had me on the edge of my seat throughout. First movie I have really enjoyed in ages.

I thought cloverfield was excellent. They did a really cool job with hyping it up over here and it worked, cinemas were sold out for days. Lucky i got my ticket early.

I really recommend this film. Just take a sick-bag with if you get motion sickness :D
 
Just watched 28 Days Later. Watched 28 Months Later first at the movies and boy did that one suck!

28 Days Later on the other head, is pretty good. :)
 
Watched "Everything is illuminated" last night.

OK movie :D
 
i think it was pretty good, i enjoyed it and the new car is the ****

it was just the pilot so basically it just set up the story
