Your "pinch open & close" trackpad option is probably the culprit. It does the same thing as cmd + or -.

Hold in your CTRL button and scroll your mouse wheel up (zooms in) down to zoom out
Thanks for that. I have been trying to figure out how my cat has been managing to make the sizes smaller.
He must have been touching the Ctrl key whilst I was scrolling.
