MyBB guide to quitting smoking

i look forward to going to sleep, like i have taken my sleeping tablets now so i can go live in another world :D. Bed at 9 for me is something new. I don't know if could live without my world, the only problem with the world is many of the dreams are about the girl who got away. 8 years engaged and an absolute gem and partly because the meds i was made me flat and lifeless. The dreams are amazing but they do haunt me in a but still they bring back the memories of her that i could never bring back awake. Then the other dreams well omg they range from flying dragons, snorting coccaine in some area i have no where. it's just incredible the range of dreams and how real they seem.

I know what you mean. Its like going into a little fantasy world. But as you mentioned there are some dreams you could do without.

I have 3 days left of my course and then im done.

Eish your new world is ending :(. Anyways keep us updated as to how well it goes when champix is no longer gooing it's moves :D.

I had a dream that i died in a car accident last night and the clarity of it is mind blowing. colours, cars, people. It really is something people should experience.

What is this type of dreaming called? There must be a market for people wanting an out of this world experience while they sleep.

could be some money in it.

Into my third week now.Psychologoical craving is still quite strong but my body is rejecting the idea of the terrible odour.
Food smells better and chest feels lighter already.

I had some whack dreams last night, jeeez was bizzare!

I don't know what kind of dreaming this is but its epic :p

I hear champix makes you depressed to the point that you wanna commit suicide. Some get past the want to actually doing it

Weirdly enough you are right about that. A quick google and there were a whole bunch of articles on it. Quite scary that.

I have heard a few stories of his, there was even that guy in the states that offed himself after being on it ad his family are now suing Fizer I believe.

I can't say it has made me depressed, but I have noticed a overall drop in my mood and level of patients.

BUT all that is about to change as today is my last day on the stuff. Just took my second last tab, last one tonight and that's that, no more having sexy time with my sister in law. :( :D

Also heard the stories - but so far I haven't noticed anything myself.

Feel slightly more energetic that I did before (not sure if that is a side effect from not smoking)

Well i have been on it on for a week or so and i am actually in a better mood for now.

Tomorrow is my quit date which works out great, then let's see how dark the mood turns :D. Egenis you should be feeling worse actually but we are different and champix like any drug will affect us in different ways, good that you are feeling like a champ though. I hope tomorrow champix works because yikes. Waking up, showering making coffee and no cigi. I think i will avoid the coffee. That way i am breaking a habit.

Naa grim if i want my dreams back i will just go onto champix without the smokes :D. My doctor said i can run a six month course if needed, which may not be a bad idea but grim let us know how you go when the champ runs out.

The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) issued an analysis of prescription drug-related injuries reported to the FDA in 2008. The report stipulated, Champix had more reported incidents than any other drug, with 1001 new cases of adverse effects and 50 more deaths reported. The ISMP reported that there were 17 serious injury reports for nicotine-replacement products, and 44 reports for bupropion (sold as Zyban as a smoking cessation medication).Champix did not rank in the ten drugs with the most related deaths, but did rank first in reports of suicide or self-injury, with 228 reports citing these effects. The ISMP noted that the high number of varenicline-related injury reports may be related to the publicity surrounding the medication's potential side effects.

There are 165 side effects associated to taking champix so it is important for you to know. The most common side-effect is nausea, other side effects include:
•Headache
•Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
•Abnormal dreams
•Sleepiness
•Dizziness
•Change in taste
•Dry mouth
•Disturbances of the gut such as constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, indigestion, flatulence
•Changes in appetite
•Airway infections
•Mood swings
•Changes in sex drive
•Tremor
•Restlessness
•Awareness of your heart beat (palpitations)
•Skin reactions such as rash or itching
•Increased urination
•Chest pain
•Increased blood pressure

Some people found that after they stopped taking Champix:
•the urge to smoke returned, as with NRT
•they felt irritable
•they felt depressed
•they had sleeping difficulties.
• As with Zyban, Champix must be used in combination with motivational support techniques.
• There are also some people who aren't suitable for this type of treatment.

This is very important, more important than the actual drug, without really believing and wanting to stop smoke smoking no drug will help.

You are dead set on selective (hearing?) and reading.

228 reports, millions on the drug, ahhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo scary. First day off smokes and i don't even feel the urge to smoke. I am suppose to be scared of your post or something ruby? You couldn't handle the drug like many i would assume, you then quit the drug and it's over. Not really an issue, besides i have been a naughty boy with other substances that are far more scary.

The lovely smoke just does not seem so lovely, that red burning cherry doesn't seem so great. This drug is amazing. Obviously mentally i want to stop but i have no craving, i don't feel the need to eat everything in sight.

Epic drug. Makes the transition of breaking the smoking habit so easy because your body is not craving it like it would if you went cold turkey. My concern is when i stop the drug but i got plenty dreams and a few months before that :D. Gonna go swim to celebrate the end of my smoking habit. Hells yea!!!!!!!!

I have stopped now for 2 months. Used champex. Have to say....it helped tremendously. My wife also used it, but she got mad depression. So she stopped. She still smokes :)

In all honesty though, I'm almost certain the depression comes mainly from the fact that the individual isnt getting their nicotine fix. It will make anyone crazy.
