I say us members join forces and create and ISP called MyADSL ADSL. :p We save our pocket money to put into a piggy bank and buy into the next BIG cable like EASSY. It should be EASY. Then offer cheap internet to SOUTH AFRICA at like 1 rand a terabyte :) If its stupid then dont blame me for obvious reasons!!!! ;)

I am sure RPM has the funds & means to make this happen. He could easily get investors and make this lofty dream a reality. RPM here is a gap in the market, you have a loyal base of members on MYBB have a brainstorm with some of the propeller heads in your ORG. And give us a ISP that we can trust for uptime, price and the rest. MYBB should also investigate the WIFI option. I for one would prefer any net connection that does not rely on a TELSCUM line.

Yeah, I also think it could be a good opportunity to enter the market and take down Telkom. Imagine how much money could be made.. but it would probably never become a reality :(

ISPs don't get started by a random idea of selling 1TB bandwidth for R1 to everybody.

The ISP would make R23,50 a year and the costs of starting, running and maintaining an ISP providing this kind of bandwidth would be Massive.

the MyBB ISP would be in a loss after the double-adapter is purchased and keep running into debt haha

there are enough competitive ISPs out there already, they need our support. As soon as they get some savings from Seacom they will pass them on to us. We need to support them in this. But if everybody is gonna stick with Mweb and the more expensive ISPs it makes it harder for the rest of us. Why do people still stick with Mweb now when they are one of the most expensive in the market? If you can answer that, then you can figure out why prices are still so high in south africa.
