Ok I've uninstalled Chrome as I cannot kill that 'RemoveTheAdApp' as I don't have the files as mentioned here.

I've installed Firefox and all seems well, however I much prefer Chrome and will try re-installing it.
Oh btw, my Online Security with Avast is enabled along with several other choices.
I also run ZoneAlarm as my firewall, and also have MalwareBytes installed.
I often run the Wise Disk Cleaner and Wise Registry Cleaner.

Nasty little infection that. Look in Control Panel - Add.Remove.Uninstall Programs and see if the nasty is attached to something else there that looks out of place.

Has MyBroadband been hacked or is it me.
Sometimes if I sit on a topic or thread too long, a yanky voice pops up saying: "I don't know how you got to this page but if you invest $100.................."
You also here it on some other sites but there it pops up another page which you can kill, here you have to kill the forum completely as no other page has popped up.

Download and install/run the following in safe mode with networking:
To get into safe mode switch on your Pc/laptop and keep pressing F8 on the keyboard until a screen appears with the safe mode option at the top, press Enter on it.
1. Adwcleaner
2. Junkware Removal Tool
3. Shourtcut Cleaner
4. Malwarebytes (Update and run a full scan, remove anything it finds.)
5. SuperAntiSpyware (Update and run a Complete scan, remove anything it finds.)
6. Kaspersky TDSSKiller

My wife recently asked me to look at something on her laptop.
I'd made her a nice, clean install of windows 7 a few months ago.
Norton Antivirus, etc.
I open Chrome and find two Ask.com toolbars.
'Oh, that. I don't know where its from, can you please remove it?'
A few years ago I actually copied all her stuff off and re-installed everything as it was going to be faster. She'd downloaded every cute smiley and banner add that she saw that time. After a very long sppech by me she'd become much more careful.
It took me a hour to trace it to two extensions she'd added in Chrome to convert to PDF...
Its a losing battle - I tell you.

This "RemoveTheAdApp 3.5" is the problem and it's something very new and is effecting Chrome users left right and center, so be very aware.
PC scans are no use as it is in the Chrome Browser.
You uninstall Chrome, use Firefox and all is 100% ok.
You put back Chrome and the instant you login into Google with your email addy and password, bingo, the virus is back.
I have been following the advise on these sites, but as soon as you get rid of it, it jumps back in.

Looks like I will have to use Firefox till Google come up with a fix.
GreGorGy, if you consider yourself qualified to help kill this extension, I have no problem in you coming onto my PC with TeamViewer 9 and helping me out.

Flattered as I am, I use a Mac myself and my knowledge comes from fixing other people's problems. What I will do however is try to get an infection on a VM and then diagnose and see if I can repair.

I'd recommend burning the HDD
LOL unfortunately once you buy a new HDD, install Windows etc and Google Chrome, the moment you login the virus is back.
The only option I have now is use Firefox which is what I'm doing
Thanks for all the assistance here.
I re-installed the image backup I made on the 24th January and that has solved the problem.
So it looks like it is Windows related which in turn effects Chrome.
