Nokia and Microsoft on Communicator Mobile

Mark Strathmore from Nokia and John Press from Microsoft talk about the first piece of software to come out of the Microsoft-Nokia partnership.

The article manages to say next to nothing about what this application/service is.

I was surprised they didn't say anything about what the software does. But it is basically Microsoft's corporate chat application. Similar to gtalk but hosted inside the company.

It really is Office Communicator for Symbian. Nothing more, nothing less.

As Mercurious said, it's Microsoft's corporate chat application which connects with Exchange so you've got everyone's contact details (email, phone, mobile, etc.) as well as a status indicator (are they logged in, or in a meeting).

Sorry it wasn't made more clear. In choosing which information was interesting and/or necessary to include that got left out.
