I'll go so far as to leave if paid membership becomes a thing. This used to be a forum frequented by techies, now it's mostly a forum frequented by spammers - the value has already dropped significantly.

It's not going to happen.

And please, report any spam you come across so it can be dealt with.

The problem is mods don't view the spam the same way.

*Insert technical thread here* - and then the first comment is "OH NO this wouldn't happen if you bought a Phillips airfryer". It's inane, doesn't add value and just derails from what used to be a great resource for technical discussions.

Nothing is ever done to the people who do this, just to derail things and up post count. Therefore one can only assume that post count is a metric by which MyBB implements a measure of value.

If we report said spam will that be actioned?

I think you should still report these posts as "off topic".

Rule no.1 on the internet, I don't pay for something that was previously free.

Here is a short story on how I broke this rule.

1. Google Photots :-(

Ok - so not really spam. As far as I'm concerned there's a time and a place for inane joviality. Behaviour that might be acceptable in the lower forums may have no place in the more technical areas. So yes, going forward, please report off topic nonsense there so we can have a look.

FWIW we do deal with a lot of off topic nonsense, you're just unaware of just how much.

It will all be features that are currently not available on the free plan. So nothing will change to that which "was free".

Google photos is a different story as you don't have access to it anymore.

I'd pay!

With the Dark theme hardly see any adverts anyway. Those small ones top left I don't even notice. But will pay for add free 100%

MyBB couldn't manage to push merch, I don't see how they'll be able to push a premium subscription

I have like 2 jackets, a Hoody (This reminds me, @rpm it's worn through on the elbows, start giving hoodies again!) and some other cool stuff from MyBB.

No clue where you get this idea from...

Possible extra features could include:
- Verified User Names
- Document and Photo Gallery
- Fewer to No Ads
- Custom Signature
- More Style Themes
- Discounts on Partner Content products
- Automatically enter competitions
- Discount on Mybroadband Branded Gear
- Feature to block all posts mentioning non-Philips Airfryers
- Able to edit (limited) headings to your own threads
- Facepalm emoji and others limited to premium subs only
- Built in GIF search
Does this include reelection for the current blue ticks / operators?

Other. Don't think those extra features really hold any value. At least it doesn't to me, since I'm quite happy as is.
