RIFT

With the ever present and annoying comparisons, how does RIFT compare to the king of MMORPGs - World of Warcraft?

I have a level 9 high elf warrior.
What counts against RIFT IMO:
1. I have a main char in WOW at raiding level and 5 alts with maxed profs to support my main.
2. I took me 2 years to find a guild. I have been in my current guild for over 2 years and have built up good friendships there. Socially, RIFT may as well be a single player atm
3. The RIFT lore is unfamiliar. I have no idea who the baddie is that I need to cut to pieces. No goal to aim for. Wtf, am I running around there for? Playing WOW, I know I am preparing to kick Chogall arse and eventually Deathwing himself.
