I'm strongly considering getting one of these. My understanding is that one can simpy load apps from the Google Play store? Can anyone confirm whether the Supersport and / or DstvNow apps work on this device (Android 4.4)?

Don't waste your money on this. It's terribly slow, the navigation is terrible.

They still haven't upgraded the OS. 4.4 is the latest.

These are my experiences other people might think differently of it.

To further answer your question, if you do a google for "site:mybroadband.co.za ATV582 supersport" there are a number of threads.

I personally hated the navigation - but my expectations were very high after using a Roku. Netflix without HD was the killer for me.

I've got a bud in the air to the US as we speak. I think I'll get him to pick up a Xiamoi Mi Box for me.
